Weekend Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Weekend Maintenance Engineer to support our weekend production, while also assisting the wider maintenance team as required. This role is flexible in terms of hours – it could be a full-time weekend position for one person, or a job share working to suit you. Whether you prefer working Saturdays only, Sundays only, or alternate weekends, we are very open to making this work for the right person. This position is ideal for someone looking for supplementary income or someone transitioning out of full-time work but still wanting to use their trade.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections.
- Assist with upgrades, installations, and improvements.
- Provide general industrial engineering support across the sawmill and remanufacturing plant.
- Welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as required to support plant operations.
- Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to improve operational efficiency and ensure minimal downtime.
- Always ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer with a passion for quality and accuracy.
- Strong skills in diagnostics, welding, machining, and general industrial maintenance.
- A proactive, team-focused attitude with a desire to continuously improve.
- Applicants must be currently residing in New Zealand and legally entitled to work.
- Physically fit and able to work in a demanding industrial environment
